GENERAL DESCRIPTION & APPLICATIONS
Hydrogenated rosin, with Light color, high oxidation resistance and high thermal stability. is one of the dominant varieties of modified rosin and is widely used in industry. Conjugated unsaturation of abietic resin acids can be removed through catalytic hydrogenation to overcome the shortcomings of oxidation and color degradation in rosin, is compatible in useful proportions with alkyds; natural and synthetic rubbers; natural resins, ethylcellulose; waxes; plastic polymers; elastomeric polymers; metallic pigments; and many other raw materials. It is soluble in ketones, esters, hydrocarbons, alcohols and chlorinated solvents. Insoluble in water. Hydrogenated Rosin can be used as soldering flux for electronic industry, raw material for food processing, adhesive, the emollient and plasticizing agent of synthetic rubber, paint, ink, pigment, cosmetic, food industry, electronics industry, paper and soap etc.
The potash soap and sodium soap which synthesized by Hydrogenated rosin are good emulsifiers for synthetic rubbers. The rosin soap can be used as an active filler and keeps in the rubbers which can be deemed as the tackifier and plasticzer. It is also used as a tackifier and applicable to the hot melting, pressure-sensitive and rubber adhesive.
